  • Cover artwork for Much Ado About Nothing in the Fifth Folio edition featuring layered colored folio typography superimposed against a Renaissance painting of a woman beset by a sea monster.
  • A passage from *Much Ado About Nothing* in which Beatrice engages in rapid, witty exchanges about Claudio and Benedick, layered over a blue playing-card composition featuring floral motifs and an X/club emblem. The insertion of a definitional “league” note frames language itself as measurement and distance, while the recurring card symbolism extends the work’s broader system of coded identities, social positioning, and playful misrecognition.
  • Beatrice jokes about heaven, bachelors, and the hazards of marriage beneath an impossibly ornate ceiling that turns flirtation into theology. The scene balances wit and resistance — romance treated less as destiny than negotiation.
  • A passage from *Much Ado About Nothing* in which Beatrice exchanges wit with Benedick under Don Pedro’s prompting, layered over a sepia “extra card” composition spanning two pages. Bird-like forms within the design suggest rivalry and mirroring, turning their verbal sparring into a visual field of contest and playful misdirection within the court’s wider game structure.
  • Don John and his companions size up Claudio and Hero while Uccello’s fractured cavalry surges behind them. Courtship becomes strategy, reputation becomes battlefield, and romance enters the scene already shadowed by conspiracy.
  • A passage from *Much Ado About Nothing* in which Dogberry and the watch attempt to clarify and report their discovery of “aspicious persons,” layered over a teal playing-card composition featuring silhouetted figures and a large numeral motif. The visual contrast between procedural confusion and graphic clarity underscores Dogberry’s comedic authority, where miscommunication becomes its own kind of order within civic surveillance and social misunderstanding.
  • Hero is mourned as falsely ruined and wrongly dead — slander transformed into elegy. Set against an ornate painted ceiling, the text becomes almost funerary decoration itself: accusation, grief, and posthumous praise suspended in delicate balance.
