PERICLES Prince of TYRE wiþ þe true relation of þe whole historie, adventures, and fortunes of said Prince.

An assassin asks after Pericles while reports arrive of a prince already vanished into uncertainty at sea. Against software-generated instrument dials, the scene becomes navigational and unstable — fate measured like weather, velocity, or risk.

Cover artwork for Pericles in the Fifth Folio edition featuring simulated aeronautical attitude dials generated in Pharo Smalltalk.

Driven from Antioch, Pericles enters the unstable world beyond courts and certainty. Gower narrates the prince’s shipwreck against the surface of a Renaissance globe alive with sea-creatures, storms, and imagined geographies. The tilted cartographic world turns the voyage into fate itself: kingdoms vanish, bearings fail, and Pericles is carried “from coast to coast” through the violent, wandering sea that governs the play’s long passage toward loss and eventual restoration.

**Shakespeare *Pericles* literary collage exploring grief, fate, and miraculous restoration through generative dial imagery created with custom-designed software. Contemporary computational artwork blending navigational systems aesthetics with Shakespearean sea voyage and resurrection themes.**

Marina is seized by pirates and carried off into uncertainty while those left behind decide she may as well be dead. Set inside the glowing instrumentation of a submarine control space and layered with unstable software-generated dials, the scene turns abduction into a systems failure — fate flickering across tactical displays and green-lit machinery.

Shakespeare text from *Pericles, Prince of Tyre* showing Marina rejecting coercion and asserting moral autonomy in dialogue with figures of authority, including references to labour, captivity, and social judgement, overlaid on a Renaissance-style classical painting backdrop depicting intertwined human figures in a dramatic allegorical composition evoking themes of disrupted social order, exploitation, and ethical resistance.

Pericles and Marina finally recognize one another after years of shipwreck, loss, and presumed death. Set against the exposed gears and armatures of a ruined mechanism, the reunion feels reconstructed rather than merely remembered — a family painfully brought back into motion.

Shakespeare text from *Pericles, Prince of Tyre* showing Gower’s closing speech summarising resolution, divine fortune, and restored order, overlaid on a stylized playing-card inspired design featuring multiple circular attitude dials arranged across the composition, each indicating different states simultaneously, suggesting balance, convergence, and a world returning to harmony within a structured symbolic system.
